British Muslims join PM Cameron to censure London attack

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - David Cameron described the shocking bloody slaughter of a soldier in Woolwich as “the most appalling crime” as he abandoned a trip to Paris to fly back to London to chair a meeting of the Government’s COBRA emergency committee this morning.
“People in every community will utterly condemn this attack”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Muslim Council of Britain said its thoughts were with the victim’s family following the “truly barbaric act”.
“Muslims have long proudly served in this country’s Armed Forces. This attack is dishonourable and no cause justifies it”, a spokesman said.
Suhra Ahmed, of the Islamic Society of Britain, said: “This is a horrific, unforgivable attack, the kind that should be purged from our society.”
A Muslim baker who lives near the scene of the killing was first to lay flowers there.
Ahmed Jama, 26, said: “Screaming ‘Allah-hu-Akbar’ and killing innocent people is nothing to do with Islam.
Home Secretary Theresa May also called the killing “sickening and barbaric”, describing it as “an attack on everyone in the United Kingdom”.
And London’s Mayor Boris Johnson said it was a “sickening, deluded and unforgivable act of violence”.
